The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has commissioned the official residence of the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) and other projects at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC) Jaji, Kuduna, on Friday 25, October 2025,
The Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, MLAILPKC , Captain Tamuno Sinivie said the COAS handed the RSM the keys to the newly completed exquisitely designed four-bedroom bungalow, replete with cutting-edge amenities, including a spacious living room, kitchen, dining area, 15 KVA generator, solar power energy, and industrial borehole.
The Army Chief also Inaugurated other projects, which included a newly constructed car park, an access road linking the school and the students' hostel, as well as a remodelled photo stand that was recently executed at the Centre.
In his remarks at the commissioning ceremony, the COAS reiterated his commitment to providing benefiting accommodation to RSMs of formations and institutions of the Nigerian Army (NA). He said that regimental Sergeant Majors remain the custodians of regimentation in the NA who play a vital role in providing leadership direction and instilling the right values and discipline among personnel. He added that the new accommodations are part of the COAS welfare package designed to enable the RSMs to discharge their duties effectively.
The COAS, who was represented by the Chief of Training Army, Major General Sani Mohammed, stressed that the provision of accommodation for officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army is in line with COAS command philosophy which places a premium on sound administration.
He commended the Commandant of the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Major General Ademola Adedoja, staff and instructor of the Center for their steadfastness and professionalism in keeping to the mandate of the Nigerian Army, especially in providing the desired pre-deployment training for NA troops embarking on Peace Support Operations, in accordance with international standards.
In attendance at the event included the Chief of Training Army, Major General SG Mohammed, the Commandant MLAILPKC, Major General AT Adedoja; the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Major General OG Onubogu, Representative of the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Major General MLD Saraso as well as officers and soldiers of MLAILPKC.
