FG DEBUNKS "CDCFIB RECRUITMENT UPDATE" PRESS RELEASE...Describes It As Fake

 

The Federal government has received a press release circulating on social media and messaging platforms, titled "CDCFIB Recruitment Update," dated 11th August 2026 and falsely attributed to the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo to be fake and unfounded.

Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior in a statement said the document, which claims that the ongoing CDCFIB recruitment exercise has been deferred until after the 2027 general election due to funding constraints did not originate from the Ministry of Interior, the Minister's office, or the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

She state unequivocally that the press release is fake, unauthorised, and fraudulent, adding that the Minister did not sign or issue this statement. 

Dr Ajani also noted that no decision has been made to defer the recruitment exercise until after the 2027 general election. Affirming that the exercise is ongoing. 

She however advised members of the public and applicants to disregard this document in its entirety and to rely solely on information published through the Ministry's and CDCFIB's verified platforms, including the official recruitment portal: cdcfib.gov.ng
