POLICE RESCUE 3 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS AT SHANGA HILL...As CP Bello Sani Reiterates Command's Determination Towards Safeguarding Lives, Properties in Kebbi




The Nigerian police Force, Kebbi Command, says it has refused 3 Kidnapped Victims in Shanga LGA of Kebbi state, namely; Muhammad Nasamu Namata, Gide Namata and Hamidu Alhaji Namani.

A statement by CSP Nafiu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi state Command on 1 August says on 27th July, 2025 at about 0200hrs, a gang of kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons invaded Sangara village in Shanga LGA of Kebbi State, and kidnapped one Muhammad Nasamu Namata aged 25yrs, Gide Namata aged 20yrs and Hamidu Alhaji Namani aged 35yrs all of the same address to unknown destination.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional police Officer, Shanga, mobilized a combined team of security personnel comprising the Police, Army, NSCDC, Vigilantes and hunters for search and rescue mission. While the operation was ongoing, they trailed the kidnappers to Shanga hills and engaged them into a fierce gun duel.

Due to the high Fire power of the combined security personnel, the suspected kidnappers abandoned their victims and took to their heels into the forest with fatal wounds. The victims have successfully been rescued on the 31st July, 2025 at about 1530hrs, and currently receiving treatment at a facility before being reunited with their families.

In the light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani has commended the bravery, commitment and professionalism displayed by the combined team of security personnel in rescuing the victims promptly and charged them to sustain the synergy amongst them, as no security outfit can do it alone.

He reiterated the Command's readiness in safeguarding the lives and property of the good people of Kebbi State, while also calling on the residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station for prompt response, please.
