NIGERIAN ARMY ROLLS OUT ACTIVITIES TO CELEBRATE 161 YEARS OF EXISTENCE...Ranks 39th In Global Firepower Index

The Nigerian Army (NA) has again assure Nigerians that it will continue to use kinetic and non kinetic tactics to carry out its primary responsibilities.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja gave the assurance  while announcing lineup of activities to mark the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024.

Represented by the  Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, the Army chief said the celebration will kick off on June 24 to July 6 2024, in Jos plateau state.

Amongst  the activities for the celebration is to include special prayers, speaking engagements, free medical outreach, commissioning of quick impact projects, a lecture, an award ceremony, a media interactive session, a veterans’ happy hour, a golf tournament, grand finale, and gala night.

The Army Chief also noted that NA has consistently demonstrated its prowess and excellence, ranking 39th out of 145 countries in the Global Firepower Index. This impressive feat is a testament to the Army’s unwavering dedication and commitment to national security.

The theme of this year’s celebration, “Transforming the Nigerian Army: Imperative for Combating Contemporary Security Challenges within a Joint Environment”, aims to showcase the Army’s achievements, capabilities, and enduring reputation as an instrument of national unity, integration, and development
