The Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT), Kano, has over the weekend matriculated 1,660 students into its regular National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the new academic session.
Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, the college provost while addressing the students during the matriculation ceremony which held at the main campus in Hotoro charged the new intakes to uphold discipline and maintain good character throughout their stay at the institution.
“This ceremony is not just a formality; it is designed to familiarize you with the college’s rules and regulations and to caution you against behaviours that go against societal norms,” Dr. Gwaram stated.
He emphasized that academic excellence is best achieved when combined with discipline, noting that the college is committed to producing responsible, knowledgeable, and productive members of society.
Welcoming the students into the FCAPT community, the Provost described the event as the beginning of an exciting academic journey.
“This event marks your official entry into the FCAPT family. I urge you to remain focused, disciplined, and to make the most of this golden opportunity,” he said.
The event had the presence of some parents, faculty members, representatives of civil society organizations, and other well-wishers, who gathered to witness the formal induction of the new students.
FCAPT, a federal government-owned tertiary institution is dedicated to advancing agricultural education and technology, playing a vital role in the growth of Nigeria’s agricultural sector and food sustainability drive of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
