IGP Warn Officers Against Misconduct, Orders Withdrawal Of Personnel From Unauthorized Deployment

In a bid to curb misconduct, foster professionalism reignite commitment amongst officers of the Nigerian police force, The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has again warned against misconduct within the Nigeria Police Force. 

The police helman says a new era of discipline and accountability has begun starting with the Police Mobile Force.

The IGP gave the stern message as he addressed squadron commanders of the Police Mobile Force in Abuja.

The IGP while acknowledging the sacrifices of officers across the country, especially those on the Frontline emphasized that the Police Force is going through rebirth,one built on discipline, professionalism, and recommitment to core values.

IGP Egbetokun identified that the original mission of the Mobile Force has been compromised, with too many officers now serving as VIP escorts and private guards. Hence the the need for the police mobile force squadron to immediately maintain at least one combat-ready unit on standby and ensure quarterly training focused on ethics, professionalism, and operational excellence.

He also ordered Commanders to withdraw personnel from unauthorized deployments. Adding that failure to comply will carry serious consequences 

The IGP however said Commanders in  the face of rising security threats from insurgents, bandits, and separatists, the Mobile Force will continue joint operations with the military and play a stronger role in defending national security.
