In it's bid to showcase it's achievements and innovations as well strengthen relationships amongst stakeholders, Nigeria is said to be set to host the 60th anniversary of DICON.
The event which will also feature the maiden edition of the African Defence Industries conference has as it's theme: "Future Frontiers in Africa's Defence Technology".
The Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is however expected to be the Special Guest of Honour for the 60th anniversary celebrations and opening ceremony of the maiden African Defence Industries Conference on Wednesday, 14th August 2024, while the President of the Senate is expected to be the Guest of Honour for the Cocktail/ Gala Night, same day.
The Minister of State for Defence Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle while announcing this via a press statement by the director information and public relations, Henshaw Ogbuike said he will address the Press on activities slated for the commemoration of DICON @60 on Monday, 12th August 2024 by 11am at Ministry of Defence Conference Room Ship House, Abuja.
According to the Minister, DICON's 60th Anniversary celebration will showcase its achievements and innovations as well strengthen relationships amongst stakeholders. The theme of the anniversary celebration is: "Future Frontiers in Africa's Defence Technology".
The Minister also noted that the event will gather the largest defence industry stakeholders in Nigeria and Africa and over 3,000 both local and international participants.
Furthermore, the event is expected to focus on investment opportunities, industrial partnerships and future developments in the African defence industry. It will also feature a distinguished faculty of knowledgeable speakers and resource persons from within and outside Africa.
Dr. Matawalle also added that reputable companies/ organizations, defence Industry stakeholders, Government officials, Military personnel, commercial exhibitors, industry leaders are invited to participate in celebrating DICON @60 anniversary and maiden Africa Defence Industries Conference.
