NSCDC CG COMMISERATES WITH DCG Bello's FAMILY, NARCDO ON HIS DEATH


Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi has commiserated with the immediate family of  Deputy Commandant General (DCG), Bello Suleiman Akanbi(Rtd) who died on 13th December, 2023, the National Association of Retired Civil Defence Officers (NARCDO), officers and men of the Corps on the demise of the retired DCG.

The Cirp National PRO, CSC Babawale Zaid Afolabi in a press statement said the CG described the DCG as resourceful and innovative when he was in service and prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to console and comfort his family. 

*While in active service, the deceased made remarkable and valuable contributions in all formations he served and assignments given to him,"CG said.

He added, "his legacies of hardwork, dedication to duties and selflessness in the upliftment of the NSCDC as it is today, need to be emulated by those of us still serving."

Born on April 10, 1960, the late DCG Bello hails from the famous Agbarigidoma compound, Alore Quarters, Ilorin Kwara State and has since been buried according to Muslim rites. 

He enlisted into the NSCDC as a volunteer and was part of the few officers who fought for the eventual recognition of the NSCDC as a para-military agency by the government of former president Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003. 

DCG rose through the ranks and held various positions during his glittering career in NSCDC and was DCG in charge of Operations before he retired in 2015. 

After his primary and post-primary education in Ilorin, the late DCG Bello received his OND and HND certificates at Kwara State Polytechnic. He was also an alumnus of Imo State University, the University of Ado Ekiti and also the premier University of Ibadah.

The deceased had served as Commandant, Kwara State Command, Zonal Commander, Zone 'B' Kaduna, Zonal Commander, Zone 'D' Minna, Acting DCG Operations at the National headquarters and DCG Administration, a position he held until retirement.

He was buried in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on 13th December, 2023 in  line with Islamic rites.
