The Directorate of State Services said it has released the Ex-EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa late Wednesday night.
Director Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Dr. Peter Afunanya disclosed this in a press statement in Abuja.
Afunanya said, "DSS confirms release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago (today 25th October, 2023."
Mr Bawa's arrest came after severe allegations leveled against him for abuse of office.
Upon the arrest of the EFCC boss, It could be recalled that Teetvnews.com had on 12 October reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had directed the commission's Director of Operations, Abdulkarim Chukkoi to step in as the acting chairman of the EFCC.
The special adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said the appointment I'd for a renewable term of 4years.
A video of the ex EFCC boss being welcomed by his family has however been seen on social media few hours after his release.
